Reduced VAT for housing rehabilitation

Among the economic incentives provided by the Government in its anti-crisis plan included the extension of reduced VAT rate for housing rehabilitation. This means that certain works can be billed with a VAT of 8% (7% until the change of VAT) instead of 16% overall.
In principle, the objective of the reform was and is that you can apply a reduced VAT on home renovation services such as plumbing, painting, electrical and carpentry. So far the scheme only applied to the masonry. But the Royal Decree approved by the Ministry of Finance also sets a series of conditions that must be taken to apply the reduced VAT, starting because the work is carried out before December 31, 2012.
